Join us for our Winter Networking Event

As the cross-border business community for investment, trade and entrepreneurship opportunities between Southern California and Canada, we hope you can join us for our Winter Networking Event in Orange County. We are pleased to be returning to the conference center of MAPLE member Fabio Furlan at CSA Group.
 

Our Presentations

We have three excellent presentations planned.
Mr. Stefan Joyner, Business Development Manager at MAPLE member organization Armanino LLP, will discuss tax opportunities available to businesses including:
  • R&D Tax Credits
  • R&D Payroll Tax Offsets
  • R&D Sales & Use Tax Partial Exemption (July 1, 2014 to June 30, 2022)
Armanino LLP is the largest independent accounting and consulting firm based in California and one of the largest firms in the United States. They provide an integrated set of audit, tax, consulting, business management and technology solutions to companies in the U.S. and globally with services to support U.S. and Canadian businesses, high net worth individuals and employers.
Mr. James (Jim) Mayfield, Director of the U.S. Commercial Service at the Orange County Export Assistance Center will be discussing the state of trade and export trends for Orange County including the region's ties to Canada. The U.S. Commercial Service is the lead trade promotion agency of the U.S. government. U.S. Commercial Service trade professionals in over 100 U.S. cities and more than 75 countries help U.S. companies get started in exporting or increase sales to new global markets.
We also have a cross-border success story to share within our MAPLE membership. Mr. David Gagnon, President and CMO of allura printing, inc., will be sharing how he and his brother René, left Forestville, Québec, Canada to live in Orange County. Shortly thereafter they co-founded a successful commercial and book printing business that is now celebrating its 10th anniversary and is currently expanding to a larger location.
