The Wooden Floor's mission is to inspire and transform the lives of young people through the power of dance and access to higher education. In Orange County and through our national licensed partners, we use a long-term approach grounded in exploratory dance education to foster the confidence and gifts within each child to innovate, communicate, and collaborate – skills necessary for success in school and in life.
The Wooden Floor makes a long-term investment in students’ 10-year journey from elementary school to college. Our holistic model serves students year-round, afterschool with dance, academic, college/career readiness, and family support programs, free of charge. The Wooden Floor has two locations in Santa Ana serving 475 low-income and multi-cultural students. Since 2005, 100% of our students have graduated high school on time and enrolled in higher education.
